Whats the meaning behind your name/number?
I picked my number based on the best deadly sins to match the game, Pride, Wrath and Lust
My name was changed a few times before finally settling on Fear Maiden, it's a play on words as I have always loved the shield maidens from Norse history, so I simply swapped 'fair' for 'fear'
But everyone just calls me Maiden.
What's your biggest accomplishment
Keeping at it. Even when I was temporarily off skates due to a back injury, I still stayed involved as much as I could.
Coming to trainings even when I didn't want to, it left me feeling amazing and eager for the next one. It's hard work, but totally worth it.
What's your biggest challenge
Getting over my own fears. I didn't think I was good enough, fit enough, ... just enough all together.
I still battle with it, but it was a comfort to know I wasn't alone in this, many of the women starting out felt the same way.
Why ORDL?
I had no choice, hahaha the wonderful Ice Tia roped me in!
But I stuck with ORDL because they were so awesome, they didn't care what my size or fitness level was. They encourage and support and really help each other out. There are so many laughs and a strength in the friendship I have never experienced before.
Words of wisdom for those wanting to get into Roller Derby?
Just do it!! Stop thinking about it!
Don't question it or doubt yourself. You'll LOVE it.

When you walk into a spiderweb and wave your hands in a panic ... it's called the
Arachna-phylactic-dance
Would you rather fight 100 duck sized horses? or 1 horse size duck?
I would make a saddle for the horse size duck and march my new found army of duck sized horses into battle against the crazy cat lady who lives in my complex.
